Remembering Steve Irwin, Crocodile Hunter. Thanks, Donna!

Written with thanks by:Donna9331

While this blog is dedicated to our beloved critters, let's make an exception and include  a remembrance to one of animal's best friends.

For me, it was one of those moment's that you will never forget where you were when you heard it.

On the car radio came the announcement that Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, died this morning.  He was one of the most genuine animal activists in the world.

I'd watched his shows off and on, thought he was a little wild and crazy, but he totally committed to both (first) his family and (secondly) his animals.

Animal Planet is re-running older shows, the one on at 6 tonight was one of the first interviews, including pictures of him growing up, with family, and he was a true "character" from day one.

In the closing statement of that June 2000 show, he said that if anything ever happened to him that it would be his fault... he would have read the animal wrong.

Although it was a very freak accident, the animals of this world have lost a true friend, and the world a dedicated conservationalist.

Rest in Peace, Steve Irwin...

God Bless you and keep you, Terri, Bindi, and Bob

PS.  On a lighter note... who wants to bet he stopped at Rainbow Bridge to play with the critters on his way through the pearly gates?

I loved Steve Irwin and thought he was a wonderful person, friend to animals and family man. Was he zany, yes. But then again maybe people in Australia have more relaxed personalities... or maybe it was just him.

My prayers go out to his family and friends. I'm sure he stopped by the Rainbow Bridge and I'm also sure he was met by Sui, his beloved dog and all the other animals he touched.

God Bless You, Steve Irwin.

Steve and his whole family are like friends here. We loved to watch his show and see all the animals and learn about them. We watched his children grow and saw his sadness and true grief at the loss of his dog Suie and Mary his old crocodile. He was sort of wild and reckless and made us all gasp or think that he was sort of a dare devil. He was and. will always be a remembered as being a bit on the wild side, full of love and concern for his animals and all animals and for his love of family.

The world has lost a loving man who's work was not done.  God bless Terri, Bindi, Baby Bob, and Dad Bob. Maybe now that Steve is in heaven there will be unlimited power to what he can do to save the animals.  We will all miss that beautiful smile and great voice. GOD BLESS YOU STEVE IRWIN
