A Memorial For Taylor:5/1/99-7/4/08

It is with a heavy heart that I post this memorial for Taylor, a beautiful black and white kitty who became a Rainbow Bridge resident, yesterday. He was Andy's heart kitty. He touched her spirit and soul in a way that was different than any of her other fur companions. He wove his way into her heart with his loving ways, his headbutt hugs with which he said "goodnight " to her before bed-time each night, and sit close to her before he set off for his own bed. He would tuck his head into her side and sometimes even fall asleep next to her. He had a very profound connection with Andy, and she with him.

Found abandoned, when he was 4 weeks old, in a broken hole in a building in Andy's town, Taylor immediately became part of her fur-family. He was so tiny he could fit into a teacup. Andy took wonderful care of him as she became his adopted "mom", feeding, cleaning and protecting him from harm. He soon grew into the wonderful cat who showed his love by keeping Andy company while she worked at home on her computer.Highly intelligent, he would spent hours just hanging out with her, curious about anything going on in the house. He even learned to use a human toilet. Andy and Taylor would often compete for first bathroom rights, which always amused Andy.He always accompanied the family when they went on vacation.

Andy will miss Taylor deeply, especially at those times when she comes home from work. Taylor was always waiting for her return, greeting her as he spied her walking down the path to her house. Upon entering, Taylor would immediately flop on the floor, exposing his belly for that obligatory rub.

Please send healing wishes to Andy, who is bereft and grieving deeply. While Taylor is no longer suffering or in pain, once again restored to vibrant health, his absence has left a huge hole in her heart. Andy wrote that "Taylor was a fighter too . . . he survived asthma which almost claimed him a few times in the past. God just felt it was his time."

Taylor you will be missed very much. I know your mom and she loved you very much. I know she will keep fond memories of you, yet mourn for the emptiness she will feel. May you once again feel healthy and happy now that you are over the bridge. Goodbye sweet buddy.

Loosing a family member is never easy. Our fur children are with us for so short a time. I have come to the realization that they are here briefly because they have mastered the art of unconditional love and tolerance and so they go home to heaven sooner than humans do. They arrive here to teach us to love and then they wing their way home. They leave beautiful memories in our souls and their love stays with us for the rest of our lives.
Tonight there is a new and bright star in the heavens. It is Taylor's soul watching over his beloved Momma. Sleep sweet little angel.

Taylor will be missed by our family also, he was a gentle, loving, funny little furry being. We must remember that Taylor isnt suffering anymore, as a matter of fact, he's entered a better place free of all the pain he was feeling;I can picture him now running around with the energy and spirit he felt as a kitten. One thing I know for certain, Taylor loved his mother VERY much, and wouldnt want to see her sad and crying. He'd want her to remember the special connection they had with each other, and put those memories close to her heart.
Love,
MaryLou and daughters

Don’t be sad you had to end my pain
And know that you will see me once again
God’s given me a place to wait for you
And you know what? He says He loves me too!!!

There’s lots of different critters all around
In Heaven there’s no evil to be found
So all of us just seem to get along
And Angels serenade us with their songs

People here are kind and stroke my fur
And they all seem to love it when I purr
I’m no longer sick so I am glad
Please don’t fill your days by being sad

I haven’t really gone that far away
And I’m really looking forward to the day
That we can be together up above
In this land of peace and happiness and love
