Floyd's favorite horse shot 50 times...A Tragic Ending

I was horrified to read this entry tody in GeHi6's wonderfully expressive  journal,"Daughters of the Shadow Men".

My brother-in-law Floyd's favorite horse shot 50 times... :

I cannot understand such a cowardly act of cruelty of this nature. It's shocking to conceive that a human being could take out their anger on an innocent animal, and in the manner in which it was done.

The sorrow that I feel for Floyd and his family is difficult for me to articulate, but I know that animal lovers will be sending prayers of healing to Floyd.

So please join me in sending glow and healing thoughts to Floyd and to Gerry. The Rainbow Bridge welcomes Floyd's beautiful horse who will be waiting for him to join him in his time.

Go in peace sweet horse.  You are missed deeply.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope they find out who did such a terrible thing. Three years ago someone drove by my house and shot my big albino Walking Horse. The bullet lodged between 2 ribs and that is what saved his life. We never caught the person responsible, but I hope he will get his just due. We did build a house in the front of our property because most of our pasture land was in front. So now the horses are further back away from the street. My thoughts and prayers are with you as I know all too well how devestating a loss this is to you. Just last Saturday we had to have our little 14 year old Yorkie euthanized and it has been a very hard week for us too. I just pray that the idiot that did this to your horse is caught, and hung!

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't believe that anyone could do something like that. He is another species of person other than human. I hope they catch him. Floyd, I know you will be together again at the Rainbpw Bridge and Vicki I am so sorry to hear about your Yorkie. It surely isn't easy.

I want to thank you for saying prayers and a farewell to this horse.  Floyd really loved his horses and Margie said he has been crying every little while all day.  I posted a picture of his race horse "Smoking Star" because he grieved when that horse's health failed and he did not respond to treatment and had to be put down.  You could tell when he talked about him that "Smoking Star' was a beloved horse, but this horse, Crookneck, was one he could ride and a horse you ride always becomes a more intimate horse friend than any other.  The one that carries you on his back for miles and miles a number of times, you get to know that horse really well. I always used to feel so bad if any of our riding horses got crippled or something.  Because they were such a big part of our lives.  Even more so for Floyd who was a working rancher all his life.  Gerry

I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful friend . It is beyond my comprehension as to how anyone could act in such a cruel way.

Hi, I am so sorry about what happen. I know the feeling as we had a dog that someone went up to and put a BB gun on his spine and cripled him. We had to have him put to sleep and I remember the angry I felt that Mijo had to lose his dog this way. People need to realize that how they treat animals says so much about them...

    The actions of these so called humans are unbelieveable. This horse is a descendant of hundreds, perhaps thousands of horses that helped people discover this country. My prayers and thoughts are with this family in it's time of sorrow. I can not begin to express my outrage, because this is neither the time nor place for it.
    Peace, prayers and love is all I have to offer. {{{hugs}}}

 I am so sorry, I cannot imagine why anyone would do this. It really scares me for a number of reasons. first and formost is the plain brutality of someone doing this. Anyone who would do something like this is a danger to society. If they will do this to an inocent animal they will do it to a person. When checking into the back ground of someone like this after they have commited torture or murder or both 9times out of 10 they will find they did things like this. Close to where I live a kid dragged a girl off of her horse and killed her and cut all of her female organs out. When looking at his back ground they found that his parents had moved him from another state because he had tortured and killed animals there. His parents didn't do him any favors. He should have had help instead of moved. So sad that people would do this.
