My heart goes out to my dear friend Lorrie and her family at the loss of their beloved Guinea Pig, Pogo. Lorrie wrote:
"Life seems to fly by on fast and fleeting wings. Yet another of my fur kids as entered heaven to rest among those who have gone before.
We rescued Pogo from a family that just did not want him. He was a child's pet and the child did not want to be bothered with him or his care. Despite the neglect, Pogo was a sweet natured and loving little soul. He never feared people or the cats. they used to lay on top of his cage and visit with him. As the years passed we had the joy of his presence in our lives. When Pogo became ill I finally realized that 7 yrs is a long time for a guinea Pig to live. He still ate ravenously but could not walk any longer and was loosing weight. His morning wheeping triad, to be fed first was now silent.
Yesterday, June 3rd, my daughter took him to our vet. Dr. Leigh sent him peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge. He will pal around with other Piggies who made life a little lighter and brought smiles to our faces.
Bye little Pogo. Make sure you Wheep at the angels each morning for your treat. We will miss you little pig."
Sleep sweet little Pogo. You will be reunited with your human and pet family once again in the future. You are sadly missed, but your memory is embedded in their hearts.
