Memorial for Dustbunny: For Lorrie and Family

This morning, my heart was saddened to learn that Dustbunny, Lorrie's beautifu beloved soulmate 16 year old cat now resides at the Rainbow Bridge.



After a long illness, Dustbunny passed on peacefully in her sleep, not awakening from her nap, curled up basking in the warmth of the stove after eating supper. As Lorrie writes, "Somewhere in her dreams she slipped away from her earthly prison and is now a beautiful sassy cat angel.


Dustbunny was an amazing kitty. Lorrie describes her intelligence as "startling for us humans." She playfully enjoyed flushing toilets, turning lights and ceiling fans on and off, turning on the TV using the remote, and able to open any cabinet or cupboard to hunt for a treat. She even was able to open the refrigerator door open. And even though she was spayed, her maternal instinct was so strong that when Lorrie rescued kittens, Dustbunny would come into milk and nurse and train the kittens.


A strong willed cat, Dustbunny was "sassy" and when she misbehaved, would frequently show her displeasure with her human parents when they tried to correct her. But just the sight of a spray bottle was sufficient for her to disappear in a flash.


Lorrie wrote, "For 16 years she was my sweet and loving companion and my online namesake. She was queen of our home and ruled it with an iron paw and tons of love. Good bye sweet angel. Watch for me someday up there and make sure you sass an angel once in a while"

Memorial For Maddie: A Beloved Angel Dog

My heart goes out to Joanne, who's wonderful canine companion, Maddie, crossed to the Rainbow Bridge this past Saturday. Joanne described him as a "wonderful Golden retriever with such an outgoing personality. The house seems empty without her." Grief is the price we pay for love, but not ever having that love to share is far more painful.

Only seven years old, which of course makes her loss so much harder for the family, but her sudden rapidly failing health was overwhelming and they were faced with that difficult decision, to give Maddie the final gift of love . . . to end her suffering. Maddie passed to the bridge peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Their other Golden misses Maddie terribly, but Joanne truly believes that Maddie said her final "goodbye" to her canine pal, Mikey on Friday when she kissed his face. Their cats also acknowleded her illness and passing. Joanne ended by saying, "What a hole in our household this loss has made. I know time heals but we miss her terribly.

Memorial For Danube and Lorrie

On November 13, beautiful 20 year-old Danube peacefully went to the Rainbow Bridge.

This is what Lorrie shared about Danube's passing.

"Today is gloomy and rainy both in nature and in my heart. This morning Danube told me it was time. He looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes and I could see in their depths, that it was time to let him go.

I will miss his tiny voice, his beautiful continence and his calm loving presence. My Snowshoe boy is now with the angels, healthy and strong and sitting in heaven's windows watching my world go by. goodbye old friend."

Rest sweetly dear Danube, knowing your are loved and missed, but will be reunited with Lorrie one day when it is time.

Grief is the price we pay for love, but never sharing that great love is even more painful.

Memorial For Reggie and Cheryl

It is with a heavy heart that I write this memorial post for Reggie, a precious black and white Japanese Chin. After a long illness, his presence has just graced the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon.

 

Even though  his loving fur-mom, Cheryl is inconsolable with grief,  we want her to know that Reggie is smiling radiantly down upon her, longing for her sadness to pass, and to remind her how loved he felt during his short stay on Earth. He will live in her heart forever.

 

Reggie is once again free of pain, and has been restored to health and happiness. He is joyously cavorting with his old and new four-legged pals, who eagerly wait to be reunited again with their “people” when their time arrives to join them there.

 

Please send special prayers for Cheryl to heal her heart and to remember only the wonderful times she shared with her beloved Reggie. May this joy fill her heart and melt the pain she is now feeling.

A Memorial For Taylor:5/1/99-7/4/08

It is with a heavy heart that I post this memorial for Taylor, a beautiful black and white kitty who became a Rainbow Bridge resident, yesterday. He was Andy's heart kitty. He touched her spirit and soul in a way that was different than any of her other fur companions. He wove his way into her heart with his loving ways, his headbutt hugs with which he said "goodnight " to her before bed-time each night, and sit close to her before he set off for his own bed. He would tuck his head into her side and sometimes even fall asleep next to her. He had a very profound connection with Andy, and she with him.

Found abandoned, when he was 4 weeks old, in a broken hole in a building in Andy's town, Taylor immediately became part of her fur-family. He was so tiny he could fit into a teacup. Andy took wonderful care of him as she became his adopted "mom", feeding, cleaning and protecting him from harm. He soon grew into the wonderful cat who showed his love by keeping Andy company while she worked at home on her computer.Highly intelligent, he would spent hours just hanging out with her,curious about anything going on in the house. He even learned to use a human toilet. Andy and Taylor would often compete for first bathroom rights, which always amused Andy.He always accompanied the family when they went on vacation.

Andy will miss Taylor deeply, especially at those times when she comes home from work. Taylor was always waiting for her return, greeting her as he spied her walking down the path to her house. Upon entering, Taylor would immediately flop on the floor, exposing his belly for that obligatory rub.

Please send healing wishes to Andy, who is bereft and grieving deeply. While Taylor is no longer suffering or in pain, once again restored to vibrant health, his absence has left a huge hole in her heart. Andy wrote that "Taylor was a fighter too . . . he survived asthma which almost claimed him a few times in the past. God just felt it was his time."

Prayers Needed For Reggie and Cheryl

Reggie is a beautiful dog who is very ill. His fur-mom, Cheryl is distraught and needs comfort and support.

I ask that prayers be sent to both Cheryl and to Reggie at this time, so that she is sustained in this very trying time, and that Reggie will feel the loving glow that surrounds him from all of us.
